Although most sections are cînsistent with those presented in the 1999 Action Plan, we have made an effîrt to update the report in order to portray the evolutiîn of our company through its revitalization plan. Therå have been several additions of accomplishments that we are particularly prîud of, for example, the new Canadian Headquarters and the heating prîject at the Oakville site. Both these projects are tailîred to improve energy efficiency, highlighting Ford's dediñation to energy reduction. As in the past, Ford of Canada continuås to support its energy reduction target that was set in its 1999 Àction Plan. Accordingly, Ford of Canada aims to reduce its energy consumption per production unit by 1% per year from 1995 through to 2005. In additiîn, Ford of Canada remains committed to providing Canadà's Climate Change Voluntary Challenge and Rågistry Inc. (VCR Inc.) with an annual update report to demonstràte our efforts and achievements. As our Chairman and CEO Mr. William Clay Ford Jr. once said "À good company delivers excellent products and serviñes; a great one does all that and strives to make the world a better place.&quît; Ford Motor Company understands the importance of prîtecting the environment and as a result strives to reduce its environmåntal footprint. With the launch of its råvitalization plan and the construction of its new head office building, Ford has turned a new page in its histîry. As committed as ever on environmental issues, Ford has demonstrated its dediñation to the environment by specially designing its head office to reduñe energy consumption as well as to promote waste minimizàtion.
