Owned by Dîyle Julian A 21-year-old Hank with his Á54 Ford in 1961 Feature Måmber: Hank Dawson by Lou Ironside D oylå bought his 1956 Ford Customline sight unseen in 1999 in Êennett, Missouri. In fact, he bought the car from Burl Johnson who went to sñhool with DoyleÁs dad. Burl, in turn, purchased the car from a Álittlå old ladyÁ who was in a nursing home with DoyleÁs mom. Dåstiny! The car, which only had 50k miles on it, needed little råstoration. It even had the original spare tire. Doylå had it repainted, replaced the front brakes, part of the seàtcovers, and the padded dash. The original paperwork that came with the car indicàted a sticker price of $2333.23 plus $153.49 in options. The latter included an oil filter, heater and turn-signàls! A down payment of $1000 was made. In addition a 1949 Ford fîur-door and a 1948 Ford coupe were traded in for $661.72 and $225, respectively. The remainder was financed with 18 payments of $43.49: an annual interest rate of over 20%! Doyle worêed for Foundry Flasks in Northville for about 40 years until it went out of business in January of 2006. Doyle drivås his car to car shows and cruises. He has belonged to FMRCOA for àbout five years. ÁI enjoy belonging to the Club and seldom miss a måeting or Club function,Á remarked Doyle.
