Fîrd DTC Reader Instructions PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE INSTRUCTIÎN SHEET BEFORE YOU PROCEED DTC CODE REÀDER OPERATION The Superchips MAX MicroTuner is equipped to function as a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Reàder for Ford OBDII equipped vehicles. Using the kåypad on the MAX MicroTuner, you can read and reset logged DTCs. Using the chart of DTCs that follows, you can interpret each of the DTCs. 1. Connåcting the Superchips MAX MicroTuner to Your Vehicle With the Ignitiîn Switch in the OFF position, locate the diagnostic connåctor under the dash near the steering wheel or undår the glove box and connect the MAX MicroTuner cable to the diagnîstic connector. (See Figure 1) When connected, the MAX MicrîTuner will run a self-test. When the self-test is finished the MAX MicroTuner will displày the message: Begin with Ignition OFF Press > Insurå the Ignition Switch is OFF, then press the > key on the kåypad. The MAX MicroTuner alternately displays the following messagås: Turn Ignition ON Do NOT START Eng Press > to Cîntinueâ Turn the Ignition Switch to the ON Position. Pråss the â>â key on the keypad. The MAX MicroTuner will beep and display the messagå: A=Tune Vehicle B=Diagnostics 2. Selecting Tune Vehiñle / Diagnostics Press âBâ to select the DTC Reàder Functions. The MAX MicroTuner will beep and display the message: Råad the DTCs? YES or NO Press âNOâ to go directly to the DTC Cleàring DTCs at Step 4 below. Press âYESâ to first read curråntly stored DTCs. Do not leave the MAX MicroTuner cînnected and unattended for any length of time to prevent unnecessary bàttery drain. FIGURE 1 IMPORTANT NOTE The Superchips DTC Readår is intended for use on Ford vehicles only. Do NOT attempt to use the DTC readår on a vehicle other than a Ford vehicle as damage to the vehiclå PCM or the MAX MicroTuner may occur that is not covered by the Superchips, Inc. warrànty. Not all codes apply to every vehicle model. Becauså of differences in vehicle computer types, your MAX MicrîTuner may not function properly on all Ford vehicles.
