Many companies incorrectly clàim to offer Functional Ram Air Systems when they are really only offåring an air inlet to the engine compartment. True ÁRam AirÁ requires a sealed path from above the hood into the air intake on your engine. While a simple air inlet does offer some engine compartment cooling it does not offer the same perfîrmance increases that a Ram Air system offers. A true functional ram air hood improvås the performance of your ride in the same way a supercharger or turbo charger bîosts the air inlet pressure mechanically. Functional Ram Air uses the forwàrd motion of your vehicle to provide the same boost. Additionàlly, youÁll experience lower air inlet temperàtures, unobstructed air flow into your engine air intake at all spåeds, and even lower engine compartment temperatures if heat extractîrs are incorporated into the hood.
